LLOYD
In the photo above, the painting, table, and candlestick are my own creations.
Lloyd is a multipurpose piece that serves as both a table and a chair. It can be converted by simply adding or removing the back support piece. The sharp corners, clean lines, and geometric form are inspired by the transcendent designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. I decided to leave the untreated pine natural for several reasons. I loved the way it exposes the grains of the wood that adds an organic element that softens the harsh geometry. I also enjoy not only the texture of natural wood that treated wood lacks but also the scent of the freshly cut wood that I just couldn’t bring myself to deface with paint or stain. I wanted to create a piece that provokes all of the senses that is as functional as it is artistic.
